Happy New Year!
This email is a reminder of our upcoming meeting… Please consider bringing a donation of clothes or even a financial donation to support the Foster Closet.
Every other month we gather to encourage and re-emphasize the significant role the church of Jesus Christ has to those in the foster care community. We gather for networking about how to bless those in foster care. We gather to encourage and support and even pray. Attendees do not have to want to become foster parents. Attendees to our meetings just want to show support and love to those in the foster care community, parents and children.
Our next meeting of the Macomb County Faith Communities Coalition on Foster Care will take place on Tuesday, January 16 at 6:30 pm at Renewal Church.
At this meeting we will have a great opportunity to tangibly bless those in foster care. We will hear from Jennifer Raleigh of Foster Closet, a ministry located in Mount Clemens which runs 100% on donations. Foster Closet provides clothes, items and supplies to foster parents with children.
They help about 100 children every month!
For this meeting we invite your involvement. We ask that you collect and bring (or have sent) nice items to our meeting in January, including:
- New socks/underwear
- Baby/Toddler gear
They are also low on clothing for boys and girls who are 9 months old.
Or bring monetary donations to help them.
This is a great way to bless families less fortunate than we are, at a time of year when the focus is on gifts and often excess. So many basic items are needed by the vulnerable in our society. As the people of God, we want to tangibly bless these families. We also want to encourage and support Jennifer and her team in their commitment to families of foster children.
Please join us!
